A foreclosure notice does not mean the bank already took the house

You still own the house after a notice. A right-to-cure letter, an order of notice, or a newspaper ad is a step. It is not the deed. In a typical Massachusetts power-of-sale foreclosure, title stays with you until a valid sale is completed and a foreclosure deed is recorded. How that applies to your loan is a question for a Massachusetts attorney you hire. This page does not apply the law to your house.

We work with a Massachusetts attorney when a notice shows up. You hire them. Contact us and we will make the introduction. If the house is also in an estate, that introduction can include our probate attorney.

Freedom buys the house while you still own it, if there is time to close. Email the town and the situation. You pick the closing date.
